Many people believe that going out and buying a new hybrid or more efficient vehicle. Though, these types of cars still emit exhaust, and do not help as much as people may think. One type of car that is better than hybrids is a car with an engine that runs on hydrogen. When hydrogen is burned in the engine the only emissions that it gives off is water vapor. Other things that can be done are changing the cars engine to run on propane, bio-diesel or ethanol based gasoline. All of these fuels burn cleaner than gasoline and do not pollute the air as much. Although, as mentioned before trying to find a station that stores these fuels is difficult. There are some companies that are starting to carry these less polutant fuels at their stations. When you need to, if your car will cost more to repair than buying a new car will, do some research and get a car that is going to help the environment. But don’t think that just because the climate is changing you need to go out and purchase a new car today. On all of your cars you should make sure they are tuned up properly and can pass an emissions test. That way the least amount of CO2 will be emitted into the air.
Another thing that can be done is to join a car pool, or use the public transit system in your area. Both of these decrease the amount of cars on the road.
